Bobwhite Quail Youth Hunts for 2009-2010 - Landowner Rules and Regulations
These adult child quota quail hunts are being offered thanks to
generous landowner/BQI Cooperators. Learn more about the

BQI Adult/Youth Quota Quail Hunt Rules
(These are landowner rules - not WRD rules or regulations)
- Only youth ages 10-17 are eligible.
- A maximum of two youth/adult pairs will be allowed
per hunt and can apply on the same letter.
- All Game and Fish rules and regulations must be
followed.
- Hunters and adult hunt supervisors must possess valid hunting
licenses.
- Hunt participants may hunt only during the time and locations
specified by the cooperating landowner and the WRD hunt
supervisor.
- All youth participants must have completed a hunter safety
course.
- Only youth selected through the quota hunt process may
participate.
- Each youth must be under direct supervision of an adult, 18
years of age or older, at all times during the hunt.
- Only one firearm will be permitted per youth/adult pair and
only the youth may shoot.
- All hunt participants (youth and adults) must wear blaze orange
vests and hats.
- The bag limit per hunt party is 6 quail.
- Bobwhite quail are the only game species that can be harvested
during the hunt.
- Hunters may bring their own dogs or to the extent possible bird
dogs and a dog handler will be available to accompany those hunters
who do not have their own dogs.
- A Wildlife Resources Division staff person will accompany all
hunters on the hunt. At least one week prior to the hunt, the
staff person will contact selected applicants to arrange a time and
place to meet on the day of the hunt.
