Internship Opportunities

The application deadline for summer internships varies for each internship. Please see PDF below for internship opportunities, deadlines and application procedures.

Internships in Wildlife/Forestry, Fisheries Management, Environmental Education, Nongame Conservation Research and Monitoring, Communications and Law Enforcement are currently available to college and graduate students through the Wildlife Resources Division internship program. WRD’s internships allow students to obtain practical experience to enhance their educational degrees and gain valuable career-oriented experiences. Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center Internship Opportunity

The Wildlife Resources Division is seeking college students and recent graduates for an excellent opportunity at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield, GA. The primary responsibility during this paid internship is to assist with and lead activities for our on-site, outreach, and residential school programs. Classes typically focus on wildlife conservation, ecology, outdoor skills and Georgia natural history. Other duties may include caring for live animal teaching aids, assisting the state Project WILD coordinator and helping with weekend animal care and educational programs.

Applicants must be self-motivated, enthusiastic about wildlife, and interested in teaching and working with animals. Preference will be given to candidates with wildlife or education-related degrees. Selected candidates will receive a weekly stipend of $350. Free housing on the area is available. This internship starts in the fall of 2008 and lasts 36 weeks.
