Press Release

Quail Season Live Chat on Ustream Thursday, Nov. 14

SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (11/12/2013)

Attention Georgia quail hunters! Quail season begins statewide this Saturday, Nov. 16 and extends through Feb. 28, 2014. To prepare for the season, please join Private Lands Program Manager Reggie Thackston, as we host a live chat broadcast this Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. EST. Tune in at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/georgia-wildlife-live-chat or http://www.georgiawildlife.com/livechat.

Hunters should be filled with excitement, as the forecast for the 2013-2014 season is well above average across landscapes with quality habitat. In addition to an in-depth look into the forecast, Reggie will provide tips for success, tips for land management and reasons for the long-term bobwhite decline, including the impacts of predators like fire ants and coyotes.

Your emailed questions will be answered live during the broadcast. Have a question? Email it to WRDinfo@dnr.state.ga.us and tune into our broadcast to see your questions answered live. The chat will last approximately 30 minutes, and we will address as many questions as we can during the broadcast. If we are unable to get to your question in the allotted time, we will do our best to respond to you individually via email.

Make sure you’re ready for the season by purchasing or renewing your Georgia hunting license at http://www.georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes.
