Lake Oconee is a large power reservoir operated by Ga. Power. Oconee WMA contains a series of managed waterfowl impoundments located immediately below the dam. The managed impoundments are hunted on a quota system. Both areas can provide good duck hunting opportunity for wood ducks, mallards, ring-necked ducks, and teal.
