Rare or Endangered Species
Many of our state's most beautiful and fragile creatures, like indigo snakes, manatees and red-cockaded woodpeckers, are threatened as their habitats vanish. Georgia Rare Species and Natural Community Information
Welcome to the Nongame Conservation Section data center. Here you will find rare species and natural community data for Georgia. The protected species lists contain species protected at both the state and the federal level. The special concern lists include federally protected, state protected and other rare or imperiled plants, animals, and natural communities tracked by the Nongame Conservation Section.
Protected Species Update
