Wonderful Wednesday Workshops at Camp John Hope

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS are a series of educational workshops revolving around topics related to shooting sports and hunter education.

  •  WHERE: Camp John Hope in Fort Valley, Georgia
  • WHEN:  4:00-6:00 p.m., weather and daylight permitting.

  • WHO:  Open to youth and adults.  Age and ability requirements will be listed in the description of each workshop.

  • NO. OF PARTICIPANTS: 10 participants.  Once maximum participants registered, additional interested participants will be placed on a waiting list.

  • REGISTRATION INFO: Pre-registration is required. Contact Mark Swords for more info.  

  • REGISTRATION FEES: Fees will depend on the workshop offered.  Fees will be paid upon arrival to Camp John Hope.

  • INSTRUCTORS: Each workshop will be conducted by Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Hunter Education Staff and/or volunteers.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Improving Wing Shooting Proficiency

Open to youth and adults, this workshop is structured as a series of advancing shotgunning activities and practices that provide the participant the opportunity to improve their ability to hit a moving target with a shotgun. All participants must pre-register and attend all sessions. Youth participants must be able to exhibit knowledge of and the ability to operate a firearm safely. This workshop will consist of classroom instruction and live-fire exercises. Loaner equipment will be available. Personal firearms and shooting equipment are welcome pending instructor inspection.

Registration fee is $12, and includes a banquet meal following the last workshop (Sept. 24).  Additional banquet meal tickets are available to purchase (must be reserved by Sept. 17).
